I want to thank all lions who attended the 29-0
Conference this past October 24th and 25th. We had, not counting the
district Governor’s and spouses nor the International Director and his
wife, 98 registered lions in attendance. The breakout sections were well
received and the work and results of the Health Screen for many went
well. I hope, when we have the MD-29 Conference in April of 2009, we
will see all of you in attendance. More on the MD-29 conference in
future ‘0’ Zone newsletters
At the conference we talked about the up and coming
Lions Leadership School, Pipestem State Park, January 31, February 1 and
2nd, 2009. Hope many will mark these dates on their calendars and that
clubs will help sponsor members to attend. This training is some of the
best in the country and is great for new incoming officers of your
club’s and new members. Send as many as you can as there are so many
great break-out sessions that one member can’t attend all that should be
absorbed. Again, try to attend this Leadership School.
Your Governor has been very busy with club visits and
has many more on his schedule. Since the conference I have visited Alum
Creek and Ravenswood, and have on my November calendar the following
visits; District 29-N Fall Conference, Chapmanville, New Haven, and
Charleston Gold Dome.
Make sure your club secretary has provided the editor
of the ‘O’ Zone newsletter your e-mail or snail mail so that all may
receive copies of this informative newsletter. Questions on this please
contact Lion Robin at robinmc@comcast.net
Finally, the new Directories will be available the
first of next week and I hope to get a copy out to each club
president/secretary and cabinet member next week. Sorry for the delay
but was something that could not be averted. Next year’s Directories
should not have this problem as steps are being taken now to see that it
won’t be repeated. If there are typos or position changes we apologies,
as we can only work with what we receive.
Hope this copy of the ‘0’ Zone finds all in great
shape and good health. If I don’t get a chance to see or talk with you
prior to November 27th, Lion Kitty and I want to wish all a great
Thanksgiving Holiday and if you must travel, please watch out for the
other drivers.
