Wayne Lions Club

 

The newly-formed Wayne Lions Club will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 12 at the Pioneer in Wayne. Dinner is on your own prior to the meeting.

The club meets monthly on the second and fourth Mondays at the restaurant.

Downtown Huntington Lions Club

The Huntington Downtown Lions Club will host guest speaker Anthony Stradwick of The Shepherd’s House at its next meeting, noon, Thursday, July 15 at the Pullman Plaza Hotel.

The club meets the first and third Thursday each month at the hotel’s Patio Room. Lunch on your own begins at noon prior to each meeting

Other upcoming speakers include Huntington Mayor Kim Wolfe on Aug. 19 and Tom McChesney of Create Huntington on Sept. 2.

Gold Dome Lions Club

 

Lion Secretary-Treasurer Jim McMillon, announced today that the Charleston Gold Dome Lions Club has installed club officers for the Lions’ year beginning July 1, 2010. The installation of officers ceremony was performed June 29, 2010 by South Charleston Lion Immediate Past District Governor (PDG) Herb Richardson at Shoney’s Restaurant in Kanawha City in Charleston. A two-page two-sided list of accomplishments for the past year was handed out to and reviewed by those present. Club officers now installed are: President-Sheri Lowery, Vice President-Jimmy Lowery, Secretary/Treasurer-PDG Jim McMillon, Immediate Past President-Darrell Jennings, Tail Twister-Jill Marks-Jennings, Membership Committee Chair RuthAnn “Randi” Brooks and Chaplain-Charles Varner.  The club’s Board of Directors is composed of the above officers of the Gold Dome Lions Club. This month begins the club’s twelfth year of service.

 

Along with his gavel, Immediate Past President (and First Vice District    Governor) Darrell Jennings presented newly installed President Sheri Lowery with a Lion of the Year award as well as a Leonard Jarrett Award for outstanding achievements and service to the Lions communities and the  West Virginia Sight Foundation.

 

 

McMillon said this installation of officers meeting also served as an anniversary night for the club to review and celebrate accomplishments of the past year. The meeting started on a high note with the induction of four new members: Connie Nelson, Leslie Morris, Shelley Seafler, and Elizabeth Clay, who were inducted by District Governor Eddie Queen.
