District 29-O Fall Conference

Dear Lions of District 29-O:

 

The South Charleston Lions Club is the proud sponsor of the 2008 FALL CONFERENCE to

be held at the Ramada Inn located in South Charleston. The South Charleston Lions Club,

along with Lion District Governor Herb Richardson, is working on putting together a dynamic

Fall Conference.

 

A ‘GET TOGETHER’ is planned for Friday, October 24, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with International

Director, Lion Dave Stouffer, from Iowa. All Lions will have the opportunity to

speak with International Director Stouffer, as well as spending time with fellow Lions.

 

REGISTRATION will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25. Currently the itinerary for

Saturday morning and afternoon includes a morning Cabinet Meeting; a luncheon; and subsequently,

a club membership and retention program presentation by International Director, Lion

Dave Stouffer, followed by classes with topics relating to developing Leo Clubs, Leadership

and Club Officers and Lions Quest.

 

The RECEPTION for International Director, Lion Dave Stouffer, from Iowa, will begin at 6:00

p.m. on Saturday, the 25th. Immediately following the reception, there will be a banquet with

Lion George Albert Daugherty, the Earl of Elkview, providing the entertainment. During the

banquet there will be a parade of checks presentation.

 

To cap the evening, HOSPITALITY SUITE for Lion Earl Jackson candidate for District Governor,

and Lion Kris Pinkerman, candidate for Vice District Governor, will be available after the

banquet.

 

This letter is to encourage you to make your reservations (application enclosed) as soon as

possible in order to be part of the great 2008 Fall Conference in October. We look forward to

David E. Stoufer
Past International Director

David E. Stoufer of Washington, Iowa, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 89th International Convention, held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, June 30-July 4, 2006.

Past Director Stoufer is a pastor and works in multi-media design and production.

A member of the Washington Lions Club since 1991 and also a member of the Kalona Lioness Club, Past Director Stoufer has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chair, vice district governor and district governor. Additionally, he has served as district LCIF chair, public relations chair, convention planning committee chair, MERL Team chair and membership chair. He has previously served as secretary and trustee for the Iowa Lions Foundation.

In recognition of his service to the association he has received numerous awards, including the International President’s Award and International President’s Leadership Award. Past Director Stoufer has presented at three USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forums and two regional Lions Leadership Institutes. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to his Lions activities, Past Director Stoufer is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is currently a board member of Lending Hands Adult Day Care and president of the F Troop Historical Association. He is a board member of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Past Director Stoufer’s wife, Rachel Nicola, is a past district governor and is also a member of the Washington Lions Club and Kalona Lioness Club.
